Let's talk about sex therapy!
I’m excited to collaborate with you working toward increasing sexual safety, wellness, and pleasure. We’ll work together to figure out what you’re already doing that’s working for you and develop a plan to build on your current strengths and supports to help you move toward the sexual life you want.
Most of us have been taught not to talk about sex and our bodies, and many of us have been taught to be ashamed of our bodies and what we think about, fantasize about, and do sexually. We’ll collaborate in a space that is safe, welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental, where we will learn and grow together.
I’m a curious person and I’m always learning. I have Master’s degrees in Forensic Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor. I’m always pursuing more knowledge through reading, attending trainings and conferences, and my membership in professional organizations. I currently belong to AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapist), ATSA (Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse), MARATSA (Mid-Atlantic Region of ATSA), WPATH (World Professional Association of Transgender Health), USPATH (United States Professional Association of Transgender Health), and ISTSS (International Society of Traumatic Stress Studies).
I believe that everyone is a sexual being, and that sexual expression is a healthy part of all of our lives. I particularly enjoy collaborating with folks who are erotically marginalized. I approach my work with a sex-positive, strengths-based, trauma-informed, harm reduction, kink and poly-affirming, intersectional, feminist, LGBTQ friendly lens.
When we work together, I’ll pull from a variety of approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), TF-CBT (Trauma Focused CBT), CBCST (Cognitive Behaviorally Centered Sex Therapy), The Gottman Method, EFT (Emotion-Focused Therapy), Imago, Sensate Focus, and more.
I look forward to connecting and walking with you on your journey toward the sexual life you want!
